Blogmas Day 5: The Christmas Red Lip...

A Red Lip around Christmas is no unusual occurrence. But with so many shades and finishes it's difficult to pick one to wear! So to help I've picked and shared my top three Christmas Red Lips!

1. Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet in Hot Pepper 3:
This  True Red Matte Shade is versatile as it can be worn comfortably during the day as well as into the night. It lasts several hours on the lip and despite being matte is very comfortable and not drying at all. It's definitely a winner for easy application although you do have to wait a while for it to dry and become matte!

This darker red shade is perfect for parties! The colour makes teeth look whiter and brighter and is flattering to all skin tones. Although the sheen makes the colour look great on the lips and is very moisturising it means that it can wear off quite quickly. The lack of longevity means it's best not to use this for dinner parties or for long events where reapplication isn't possible. (See it on the lips here)

This Bright almost Coral-ey shade is a great day time colour. It adds a bright pop of colour without being too fancy. When applied it does tend to cling to dry patches as it is VERY matte however this can be avoided with either a lip scrub or using a lip balm and blotting before application.

What's your favourite Christmas Red Lip?

Blogmas Day 4: 5 under £5 - One for the Bath-a-holic...

I Love... is a brand that I have been using a lot recently. The bubble bath in Strawberries and Cream was what first drew me in and I've loved every product from them that I've bought since!
The scents are divine and a little goes a long way in bubble respects.
However with so many scents on offer it's quite a tough call picking one large bottle.
But this Gift Set of 6 from Superdrug is great for a bath lover as it gives you a good chance to try a few out. The scents included are quite festive; Sugared Cranberries, indulgent Chocolates & Oranges, delightful Mixed Berries, warming Spiced Cinnamon, sweet Iced Cookie and my favourite; Cherry Almond Sparkle!

Any Bath-lover would be up for new products to try and with the variety of scents there is sure to be at least one hit!

Check back tomorrow at 6 pm for a new post!

Blogmas Day 3: A Christmas Surprise for Syria

I have always been quite proud to be British. Our welfare system is undoubtedly one of the best in the world. Healthcare is free as is basic education, there's a benefit system in place that despite the beings who abuse it is actually an extremely helpful tool and prevents even more cases of poverty arising.

Yesterday at 22:30 MP's voted as to whether airstrikes should be carried out on Syria. 397 MP's, a majority of 174 MP's voted in favour.
I find it difficult to comprehend how a parliament that advocates such welfare and safety of citizens of this country can allow the murder of countless civilians. Do the lives of Syrians mean less than British Lives?

Regardless of any positive outcomes that 'may' come from the attack, it will never outweigh the loss of human life that will undoubtedly occur.

Many Syrians have already lost family and in the coming days many are bound to loose more. So whilst we get ready for Christmas and look forward to being surrounded by our own families I hope we can give some thought to the poor souls who won't be seeing their partners, mothers or sons or grandparents.

Many seem to think this is all we are to be able to do. Tweet #PrayForSyria or #PrayForHumanity or post a heartfelt message on some social media site. But if a £1 was donated for every time this occurred Syria may not be better off, but the support could ensure the humanitarian efforts can continue to better the situation in any way they possibly can. So instead of sharing on social media how much you wish the airstrikes were not taking place why not donate to the BRC Syrian Crisis Appeal or another charity of your choice?

(Sorry for the slightly ranty post, back to a slightly more light-hearted and fun Blogmas post tomorrow!)

Blogmas Day 2: H&M Balmain Lookbook Part 1...

A few weeks ago I posted about the release of the H&M x Balmain collection (read it here). It's safe to say I was incredibly excited for the collection! However the release was a disappointment due to the website meltdown. I didn't manage to get any of the clothing items I'd wanted, but I did grab a few accessories and I've created 3 different looks to show how one could wear them over the Christmas Period.

The Green and Gold Signet Ring...

This ring is quite chunky but the gorgeous colour makes it a very classy and timeless piece. I teamed it with a similarly coloured crop top from H&M and a black body-con skirt for an easy party look. I threw on a black coat from New Look (similar here) to stave off the cold! To add a bit more colour and to match with the ring I also carried a gold bag also from H&M.

The green gives the whole outfit a splash of colour and the shade is very Christmassy!

What's your favourite colour to wear at Christmas?

Blogmas Day 1: ...And a Happy New Year

It's December First meaning it's now socially acceptable to listen to Christmas music, right?
But after years of listening to the same Christmas songs over and over again you might fancy a bit of a change and want to mix things up with something a bit new.
Luckily I have an extremely underrated Christmas EP that I find it hard to believe anyone could dislike; '...And a happy new year' by The Maine

With 3 original songs and a cover of Wham!'s 'Last Christmas' it's a short but sweet set of songs.
Although I adore all three original songs, the one I'd recommend the most is 'Santa Stole My Girlfriend'. It's a funny little acoustic track that's sure to make you smile!

You can find the EP on iTunes, go give the previews a listen!
